We heard bad things about this place but I went to try for myself and Iβm so happy we did. Weβre new to the area and this is our new go to Mexican place. The staff were very pleasant and helpful. You get free chips, salsa and refried black beans, I believe. Thereβs a cute little play area for the kids and a really nice outside seating area. The food was really good and the prices were even better! We will definitely be back! The atmosphere is very appealing to the eye and I love the giant hanging stars!!!!
Overview
Walking into El Paso Tacos & Tequila feels like stepping into a place where Mexican comfort food is taken seriously but never treated as precious. I first stopped by on a busy Friday evening after work, the kind of night when most diners are craving something bold and filling. The location at 1025 Industrial Dr, Crestview, FL 32539, United States is easy to spot, and parking was surprisingly stress-free even during peak hours. Inside, the room buzzed with conversation, clinking glasses, and the unmistakable smell of grilled meat and warm tortillas.
The menu is where this spot really earns its reputation. Instead of trying to do everything, it focuses on tacos, tequila, and the classics that people actually order. Carne asada tacos arrive with tender, well-seasoned steak and a slight char that tells you the grill is doing real work. On my second visit, I tried the al pastor, shaved straight from the spit, and it reminded me of places Iβve eaten at in Texas where technique matters more than presentation. According to culinary research shared by the National Restaurant Association, dishes rooted in regional authenticity tend to score higher in customer satisfaction, and that definitely tracks here.
One thing I appreciate is how consistent the kitchen is. Iβve eaten here with coworkers during lunch and with family on weekends, and the flavors stay steady. That consistency doesnβt happen by accident. Restaurants that standardize prep methods, like marinating meats for set times and training staff on portion control, reduce errors and improve quality. You can taste that discipline in the rice, beans, and sauces, which never feel rushed or thrown together.
The tequila selection deserves its own moment. Instead of overwhelming guests with endless bottles, the list is curated and approachable. The staff once walked me through the difference between blanco and reposado, explaining aging and flavor in plain language. That kind of knowledge builds trust. Industry data from the Distilled Spirits Council of the United States shows that tequila consumption has grown steadily over the past decade, largely because people are more interested in learning what theyβre drinking. This place clearly understands that shift.
Service plays a big role in why reviews stay positive. On my last visit, our server caught a small order mix-up before it reached the table and fixed it without fuss. Mistakes happen in busy diners, but how theyβre handled matters. A Harvard Business Review study found that customers are more likely to return when issues are resolved quickly and politely, even if something went wrong initially. That principle seems baked into the culture here.
Portion sizes hit a sweet spot. You leave full without feeling weighed down, which isnβt always easy to pull off with Mexican food. Fresh ingredients help. While I canβt see the entire supply chain, the crispness of the vegetables and the clean taste of the proteins suggest proper sourcing and storage. Food safety guidelines from organizations like the CDC emphasize temperature control and freshness, and nothing Iβve eaten here has raised concerns.
Prices stay reasonable, especially given the quality. That balance makes it a go-to for locals who want a dependable meal without turning it into a special-occasion splurge. Many reviews mention the same thing: good food, fair pricing, and a relaxed vibe that doesnβt rush you out the door.
If thereβs one limitation, itβs that peak hours can mean a short wait, especially on weekends. Still, the turnover is efficient, and the staff is upfront about timing. For a diner that blends bold flavors, knowledgeable service, and a focused menu, waiting a few extra minutes feels like a fair trade.

The food was excellent! Service, quality, and cleanliness. I always come here to eat and have never had any problems! I recommend it.
Visited El Paso Tacos & Tequila on December 19, 2024 at around 2pm with my wife as she wanted to try it out as we were passing by. We stopped by and were greeted and seated immediately as there was few people there but normally when we pass by this place is jumping so I guess we lucked out to come at a time no one was really here. We were greeted by our sweet waitress who provided chips, salsa, and bean dip. The salsa was to my liking as I canβt tolerate any spice due to stomach issues but it was perfect along with the beans paired perfect with the chips. I ordered the enchiladas ranchera platter which was 4 enchiladas which I choose 2 beef, one chicken and one cheese. Hands down probably the better or even the best enchiladas I have had, the red sauce on it wasnβt overwhelming like other Mexican style restaurants the food was seasoned and cooked well. My wife ordered the nacho platter which was a decent size and pretty tasty. Overall the atmosphere is what you would expect from a Mexican joint, service was very quick and had great hospitality. We will come back and recommend you try it out. For both our meals, with drinks and an appetizer was $40 so itβs about average for a sit down restaurant these days but the food was top notch
Yall!!!! This place was delicious! The customer service was fantastic. Very quick and relaxing. It felt like we didn't have to wait for a thing. Having three little ones under 5 can be overwhelming at some restaurants. El Paso made us feel like we were at a family gathering. Kids were distracted with the playground and we had our drinks and food in a timely manner. We ate the shrimp+steak nachos and our kids ate everything on their plate. Even with the rain, it was a fantastic atmosphere! Didn't want to leave
Naomi was our waitress and she was super amazing! Made sure we were fully taken care of from the moment we sat down! The food was hot and fresh and came out quick! It had so much flavor!
After their grand opening and all the drama surrounding it, we wanted to wait a while before finally trying them out. We went today and I must say, the pricing wasn't too much more expensive than other local Mexican restaurants, and the food quality was excellent. Honestly, I went in expecting to be disappointed but was pleasantly surprised that everything exceeded my expectations. Food tasted great, and the portions were plenty! We will definitely be stopping in again, as it was a great experience.
My family and I had a great time at El Paso restaurant. The staff were all very friendly and everyone performed above and beyond the call to make our overall dining experience awesome. In addition, all of our ordered food was served in a timely manner, the food portions were plentiful, the food was at a good eating temperature, and the food was seasoned good. Also, there was good (evening) lighting in the parking lot.
